no, i don’t believe that all sikhs ‘need’ to cut their hair. however, if one wants to abide by the regulations set out by sikh discourse then yes, keeping your hair is one of them. if you want to become more involved, go for it! anyone who judges you harshly isn’t really following sikh ideals of love and compassion themselves.  i don’t believe in the dichotomies between east/west, we humans are much too complicated for that.
