UK-based hip hop artist Hard Kaur wears a patterned black and white headscarf wrapped arond her bleached hair, hoop earrings, a pop of lipstick, bracelets, rings, a nose pin, a white tanktop and a huge pair of glittery lips around her neck.
Here, Guru Raj Kaur Khalsa wears one of her trademark white salwaar kameez and a white dastaar graced by a white dupatta which has been affixed with a gold khanda. Holding a long shastar in an elaborately decorated case, she also wears one ring, one bracelet, one wristwatch and her kara rests on her left arm. She also wears a multi-stranded turquoise necklace. Born in 1950s Brooklyn of Greek descent, Guru Raj Kaur converted to SIkhism and has been running various programs in the Sikh community in Vancouver for over 30 years.
New York based organist and pianist Dr. Lonnie Smith (b. 1942), who converted into Sikhism in the mid 1970s. Here, Lonnie rocks the piano while sporting a matching navy blue turban and silk kurta, with his kara, necklace, and bracelets on his right arm.
